I attended the 10-week intensive course and it has been a great experience. The teachers are knowledgable, accessible and helpful. If you want to learn the basics of filmmaking ánd want to practice making films in a short period, from pre-production, production to post-production, I would recommend the 10-week course.
I recently attended the Rome International Film School (RIFS) for both a year-long course and their summer program. It was a truly remarkable experience. I was in an environment that fostered creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. One of the standout aspects of RIFS was the opportunity to connect with incredibly talented individuals. From fellow students to faculty members, I was constantly surrounded by a diverse and passionate community. It broadened my perspective on storytelling and technical expertise. The Faculty at RIFS not only possessed extensive knowledge and experience in the industry but also had a genuine desire to see their students succeed. They were approachable, supportive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had the resources and guidance we needed to bring our creative visions to life. I made three short films at RIFS that I am genuinely proud of. I highly recommend it to anyone who is passionate about pursuing a career in Filmmaking.
I had a wonderful experience here doing the 5 week summer program. I learnt a lot of useful things that will help me along my work path. I also met a lot great people including Carl who you can tell really knows what he’s doing. The other teachers were also really good! I definitely recommend!
I have recently attended the 10 weeks intensive course , all I can say is that I have spent one of the most exciting moments of my life. I have been dreaming to make movies since I was a child and this school gave me the chance to make my dream comes true. The teachers are very charismatic and the school is so charming and well located, all you need is just enough grit and all your inspiration for creating great stories…
I knew very little about cinema, film production, or anything else related to it. That’s when I began applying RIFS, thinking to myself, “I need to find some structure for myself.” “I need to figure out what kind of filmmaker I want to be.” And that is what RIFS offers me. It will teach you the fundamentals of how a production works as well as the technical aspects of putting everything together; I had the opportunity to work on film sets and learn how things work. I am grateful to my teachers and my filming crew. It’s an incredible experience. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about cinema…
I’ve done the one year program at RIFS, it was a great experience! There are usually not too many students, which gives you the opportunity to create a real group and to get specific and personalised teaching from the teachers (that are all very nice by the way). You’ll leave the school with all the knowledge you need AND two films (that you write, direct and edit) which is fantastic. It’s really a complete course!
I have done the 1 Year Program. Successfully shot Two short films. One of them won several awards and the second is still in post. All i want to say that the school will do its best to put you on your first steps of filmmaking.
I was a student of the one-year program. I really loved the opportunity to make two short films with 100% creative freedom. As someone who was doubtful of film school in the U.S., I feel I made the right decision taking something more fast-paced. It was very eye-opening meeting all the other international students, becoming great friends with them, and learning about all our very different backgrounds.
I attended the course “Fundamentals of Screenwriting”, with Carl Haber, at the Rome International Film School: I found it interesting and it taught me several aspects of the craft that I didn’t know. And it was fun!
No filmmaker is so great that Carl Haber cannot help them improve and explore the full extent of their potential. I have had the pleasure to take a handful of courses from Carl at RIFS and in addition to being one of the most interesting and kind people you will meet in your life, Carl is boundlessly generous with his over 40 years of industry wisdom, and picking his brain is a true gift for anybody interested in cinema. Before taking classes with RIFS, I had already completed film school and worked on every type of project from music videos to shorts to feature films and commercial productions, and I have never felt more confident in my ability as a creator than with the knowledge I acquired from RIFS. The courses I took from Carl have given me clarity in the process and made me comfortable pushing the boundaries of what I thought I was capable of. Carl believes in his students and advocates for them to the utmost of his ability. If you want to become a better filmmaker, you would be foolish to leave this opportunity unexplored. 10/10 stars, full endorsement from me.
